I arrived in China on the 7th November 2005 very late at night, met at the airport by Willy Tsaio & Karen Cheung, Artistic Director & General Manager respectively of Guangdong Modern Dance Company. Prior to this landing, I had been to China once, to Shanghai with Skadada from Perth, Australia, to perform at the Shanghai International Arts Festival in 2003. I was treated to late dinner then arrangments for my choregraphic residency with the company were discussed. I began my residency 6 hours later by teaching my first class with the company.

It's early morning, 21st December 2005, I journey with the company to Zhuhai today, where they will be working for the next 10 days. The month has disappeared into the dither of classes, workshops, my choreography on the dancers, the challenges & the determination of language, the absorption of my surrounds be it the culture, the population mass, to the pollution permeating everything.

My new dance work City of the Fall had its end of season performance on Monday nite - whew! It is done. Now onto the next one. I start tomorrow.
